Slow food means a focus on the quality and freshness of the ingredients, but also their regional origin and season. At Hotel Schwarzschmied, the butter and honey served at breakfast derive from the local dairies and beekeepers of the close nearby Ulten Valley, and the eggs are supplied by the Psegghof from the Venosta Valley. We use only fresh vegetables and fruit from South Tyrol and Italy, and herbs sourced from our own farm garden. We are supplied by local and regional producers and direct farm markets.
Not only are juices, beer, wine and spirits produced mainly within the region, but some of the fine wines, including organic wines, derive from the winery of the adjoining monastery in Lana. There is also a well-stocked selection of international wines and spirits on offer.
