Lana and Environs
Its location in the center of the Adige Valley beneath the high mountains, makes Lana the ideal starting point for all cycling tours, and there are itineraries to suit most requirements. A well-frequented route runs for 20 km through fields and orchards in the Adige Valley all the way to Bolzano. The entire Adige Valley Cycle Trail leads from the Reschen pass near Austria and Switzerland for almost 80 km through Venosta Valley up to Lana, and from there to Bolzano. An alternative route is through the Passeier Valley all the way to St. Leonhard.
Experienced cyclists will enjoy negotiating the winding road leading to the Gampen pass. From there you reach Val di Non, returning via Mendel pass. There are also countless paths and single trails for mountain biking. Cyclists can expect considerable challenges along the forest roads on the local mountain: Mount St. Vigilius.
Cycle Tour: Lana – Meran – Bolzano Cycling Trail
One of the most popular cycle trails runs along the upper part of the Adige River, through the Valsura Delta biotope, winding its way through orchards and vineyards. The Adige Valley Cycling Trail extends from Meran to Bolzano, passing Lana. From Meran one can reach the distant Upper Venosta Valley, near the border with Switzerland.
