Our Alto Rosé
Vineyards are part of the view from our houses. They shape the landscape, the light, the changing seasons, and the culture of South Tyrol. Anyone who spends time here encounters wine at every turn.
The Alto Rosé was born from this connection to our region. Together with the biodynamic Kränzelhof winery in Cermes, we created a wine that captures the lightness and character of South Tyrol.
The Alto Rosé embodies many of the qualities that define the Alto houses: effortless ease, a close connection to nature, and an appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. Fresh and vibrant, yet layered and full of character, it invites you to slow down and savour the moment.
This spirit is also reflected in the label, created by Swiss illustrator and graphic designer Yves Haltner. His poetic depiction of a swimmer in an alpine lake evokes a sense of freedom, lightness, and connection to the mountain landscape from which this wine originates.

How is Alto Rosé made?
For the 2025 vintage, Lagrein, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Schiava, and Cabernet Sauvignon were combined into a carefully balanced cuvée. The grapes are grown on soils shaped by weathered primary rock, glacial moraine deposits, and granite in the surroundings of Kränzelhof, just a short walk from Hotel Schwarzschmied.
Following gentle processing and cold fermentation, the wine was first matured in stainless steel tanks and then aged in barrique, giving it both freshness and depth.

What does Alto Rosé taste like?
In the glass, Alto Rosé reveals a warm salmon-pink hue. Aromas of raspberry and strawberry are complemented by delicate spice and subtle notes of plum and cinnamon. On the palate, it is fresh, juicy, and well balanced, with lively acidity and a gentle mineral finish.
An easy-drinking rosé with character and depth, it is equally suited as an aperitif or paired with antipasti, fish dishes, vegetables, and pasta.
